The Vegan Diet for Gestational Diabetes – Please Share your Experiences

I was just diagnosed with gestational diabetes. Just goes to show you how you can be an uber healthy eater and have no risk factors, but it can happen to you! Of course, I am going to be set up with a monitor, nutritionist, and further specialized care, but if there are others of you in my boat, words of advice and encouragement are welcome!

What is your diet?

Yes, you will be fine! I had it with my first and still have to monitor with my current second, even though I’m negative, bc certain things still spike my sugar. Has nothing to do with your diet, all about the placement of the placenta. It’s trial and error in the beginning to see what spikes your sugar. For me it was pasta, rice, quinoa, breads, etc. Sugar didn’t do anything to me so I was able to eat some sweets, fruit, etc. Once you know what you can eat it’s very easy to manage, but the cravings are definitely hard to deal with. Good luck and feel free to pm if you have any more questions.
