Anyone in here use this in the USA?
Looking for a vegan formula.
I’m not making a lot of breast milk and he has a tongue and lip tie which significantly impacts how much he can suck. We’re getting that resolved Thursday now.

Looking to do both formula and breast milk how I can.

Fed and happy baby is most important and most ethical imho so do what you have to. I know you said you don’t think you want another human’s milk but if you’re looking for just a small amount to supplement until revisions I might be able to help. My milk seems to be pretty solid calorie wise – my 3 month old is in 12 month clothing. Just let me know.

Sadly there is no formula in the US that’s 100% vegan. 🙁 You just got to do the best you can. My daughter needed AR for spit up and as much as I wanted to fight it I had to do what I needed to for the short time she needs formula.

So weird we can’t get vegan formula here ;/ Sucks. Yeah I can only do so much and he’s hungry and I can’t starve him.

Jessica, don’t feel guilty, there is very little byproduct in the soy formula so I think it’s a good choice. I learned real quick that many things I was trying to adhere to pre-baby went out the window post-baby. lol It’s truly a balancing act when you’re trying to be vegan and ecofriendly since the baby world goes against those two things super hard. Earth’s best formula has a soy one and it’s vegetarian, the DHA is vegetarian based not from animals.

We used Gerber Soy for my son. We had all the same issues.

Also a great option Jenny! I also learned there are programs that give you donor milk for free which is a lot more cost friendly than formula.

Human Milk for Human Babies is a great group. Even if you just use it partially, it could offset the cost of the French formula which is vegan.

But another human’s milk is the closest to what your baby needs. It’s formulated for baby humans, and it’s vegan and it’s free. I understand the initial weirdness factor, but that’s very societal. Maybe worth trying to get past for baby’s sake. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Have you considered donor breastmilk? It’s a good vegan alternative!

How do you know it will be from a vegan? Do you get some info about the donors?

You absolutely can! You can look on a local Vegan moms page and ask for milk there, or search on a donor group. Many babies have sensitivities to certain ingredients, so it’s not at all uncommon to be able to find a donor who excludes ingredients from their diet (at least while breast-feeding).

But, especially for those of us who cannot get vegan formula, I would argue that even breastmilk from an omnivore or vegetarian (freely given) is as Vegan friendly (if not more Vegan) than buying a non-vegan formula. And, I would argue it is the more ideal nutrition for a baby human.

(please don’t take this as an attack or shaming towards anyone. We all do what we think is best. I just want to make sure people searching for options have all of them. Often times I see donor breastmilk being overlooked as an option)

Hi. My baby is 2.5 wks old now. I pump my breast milk and pump out 20-30ml every 2-3 hours and I pump for about 10-15 minutes. My baby eats 120ml (4oz) every 3-4 hours… So I supplement with Prosobee. I haven’t had any problems with this formula.

You won’t find a vegan formula in the United States. Soy formula is the closest you’ll get. The vitamin D in it will not be vegan.

I use a soy base formula. After I got extremely sick it wasn’t possible for me to breastfeed because of the medication I am on. No formula is 100% vegan, which is heartbreaking, but veganism is about doing the least amount of harm possible.
